I guess he was saying that he was discovered/inspired this from: https://www.youtube.com/c/GakuLange/videos

I was puzzled why the GIF format was used in a majority of the videos I watched?

1. GIF is an antiquated format that I love to this day. The downside to using the GIF rather than the MP4 would be a loss of quality and limited color depth (256 colors off the top of my head)

lets do some dial up!

But now that I think about it... Making stuff look like crap/distorted is cool and has been on the uptick since the 2000's. we like wut we like!

2. A majority of the work is done in PS and it can export video and has been able to for a while. Rather than an animated GIF? what ever floats our boat? I love animated GIF. Irregardless! ha ha agh geez... I gotta re-watch that lol :)

3. Eliminating the GIF format from the equation saves time

note to self: observed unnecessary GIF file conversion in another video (not this one forgot which one)

was able to reverse engineer the look using good ol PS plus my beloved proDAD ReSpeedr as is supports optical flow time remapping n such.

Optical flow is the secret sauce with this look... and can be done in many applications like premiere pro (not premiere elements) Davinci resolve

Since i brought up premire elements "frame blending" is not optical flow i tested it and found the result unsatisfactory and there is no comparison was testing to see wut happen for kicks and giggles.

Just taking some quick notes more on this story as it develops...
